Mi Property has seen many exciting changes already this year, including rewarding our internal talent and several promotions within the team. One to highlight is Emily Gough being promoted from Renewals Manager to Commercial Manager.
Here are some questions we asked Emily about her time so far at Mi Property and what she expects to deliver in her new role.
What has been your journey so far?
I have worked at Mi Property for seven years, starting as a Property Insurance Advisor within the renewals team in 2015. In 2018, I progressed to Renewals Manager and in early 2022 was further promoted to Commercial Manager. My new role includes overseeing both the new business and renewals teams, managing insurer relationships and working with our senior technical team to ensure we continue to provide the best possible product.
Tell us about some of your achievements with Mi Property?
During my time at Mi Property, my biggest achievement has been obtaining my Diploma in Insurance from the CII. Gaining this qualification has been tremendously valuable to my career!
One of my more recent achievements has been the completing of a book transfer for a broker who was unhappy with their current provider. We were able to offer pre-agreed rates on a variety of commercial and residential risks, with all terms agreed upfront so there were no surprises throughout the year.
What can we expect from you and your team in 2022?
We are in challenging times with the knock-on effects of building costs significantly increasing, in turn pushing indexation and insurance premiums up. The team will continue to work with our panel of insurers to offer comprehensive policies at competitive premiums. We will always provide our brokers with expert property owners advice with the wealth of knowledge in our team.
Despite these challenges, I see exciting times ahead as we launch our new online broker portal. This will offer our brokers the chance to get online quotes and access to instant documentation. We will still have our skilled underwriters working alongside the web portal, so we will be on the end of the phone for any queries and continue to offer manually underwritten quotes where needed or for any brokers that prefer to work this way.
I am due my second child in the summer of 2022 so will be on maternity leave from 17th June. We have a strong team in the office who will continue to provide excellent service and advice. Senior contacts to note are:
